The Killers Put Disbanding Rumours To Rest

by on Feb.11, 2010, under Music News

In an official statement posted on their website, The Killers have declared that rumours about their ‘demise’ are unfounded, stating that ”They are all looking forward to some time off at the end of this tour as they have been on the road for a long time, but there are no plans for an indefinite hiatus”.

However, there are some bad news especially for the Australian fans. The gigs at Sydney Enmore, Good Vibrations Festival Sydney and Good Vibrations Festival Perth have been cancelled. The reason is the same that forced them out of their mini Asian tour last month: the serious illness of a close family member. Other details have not been disclosed on the matter. The Las Vegas outfit still hope to make it to the Good Vibrations Festival’s Gold Coast and the Melbourne gigs next weekend. After the previous cancellation, rumours about an indefinite hiatus started to emerged on several websites. Read the full statement here:

R.I.P. A-ha (1982-2010)

by on Oct.19, 2009, under Music News

a-haWell, another one bites the dust, another legendary, record-breaking synthpop legend that is. With three years short of their 30th anniversary, Norway’s most famous band, A-ha, decided to call it quits. And even in these sad times, they maintain their grace and go out with a bang: a world tour in 2010, ending with a goodbye show in Oslo. No fighting, no spitting, no guitars breaking, A-ha are saying their farewell the best way they know: pleasing the world with their immortal pop masterpieces, gathered in 9 albums, spanning over almost three decades. It is no wonder that they succeeded in always remaining a big name in the world of music. They adapted to the times and offered each generation since the 80′s a number of hits worthy of any kind of decade-defining compilation. We all have our favourite A-ha tracks, I know, but here are three of mine, one for each decade active:
